Run your first AI conversation.
Use Tremi providers for guided reactivation, or connect your own providers and build a workflow.
Use Tremi providers
Tremi can provide managed AI calls and text conversations through Retell and Twilio after business review and channel verification. Your free trial includes 250 shared credits for 14 days from verified signup.
- During workspace setup, choose Preview reactivation. The simulation uses no credits and contacts no one.
- The workspace owner can request one US number in Tremi providers. Submit the business website, use case, and consent details for review.
- Edit your voice and SMS agents, publish a version, and complete the channel activation steps. Tremi covers initial provisioning and sender registration; approval does not pause the trial.
- Open Reactivation. Describe your customers and outreach reason, choose channel order and waits, review stop conditions, and choose a result destination. Enable approval if staff should review results before follow-up.
- Simulate, review readiness, and publish. In Groups, upload CSV or XLSX, map columns, select rows, and confirm recipient timezones, timing, and credits.
- Inspect results and attention items. Review uncertain interest, complete handoffs, and recover failed follow-up actions from run detail.
Files may contain up to 1,000 rows and 5 MiB. Tremi imports spreadsheet values without running formulas. Use staff cancellation or a connected-app stop trigger to stop pending outreach.
Managed AI SMS adds 5 credits per outgoing message; incoming replies are free. Managed voice adds 20 credits per connected minute, rounded up to a whole credit. Workflow charges are additional. Accepted work settles against reserved credits. One managed US number is held for 30 days after trial or paid access ends; upgrade during that hold to keep it.
Connect your own providers
Already use Vapi, ElevenLabs, Bland, Phonic, Telnyx, Plivo, Resend, Postmark, or Amazon SES? Open Connections and choose your provider. See all supported providers and their setup guides.
This walkthrough uses your own Retell account for an AI text conversation. For managed setup, follow the steps above.
- A Tremi workspace with an active trial or paid plan, with owner or admin access.
- Your own Retell account, a published chat agent, and a dedicated SMS-approved sender. Connect only the providers your chosen channels require.
- A phone number you control for the later live test.
You can complete the setup in the console. Simulations send no messages and use 0 credits. If you want to send a standard Twilio SMS instead, use the SMS/API tutorial.
Step 1
Configure your Retell chat agent
This example uses Northstar Cleaning, a fictional office-cleaning company. Create a chat agent in Retell and use this prompt and opening message. Its only dynamic input is first_name.
You are Northstar Cleaning’s AI assistant. Contact people who have requested information about office cleaning. Introduce yourself as an AI assistant and use {{first_name}} when greeting the recipient.
Northstar offers evening office cleaning. Ask one question at a time to learn the office size in square feet, how many evenings per week they need cleaning, and when they want to start. Ask whether they would like the team to prepare a quote. Capture scheduling constraints such as "after 6 pm" in the summary.
Do not invent prices, availability, service areas, or a confirmed booking. The team prepares the quote and confirms the service details. Answer only from the information above; offer to have the team answer anything else. Honor requests to stop and do not continue selling to someone who declines.
After the conversation, return the declared structured results. Set qualified to true only if office size, cleaning frequency, and preferred start are known and the recipient explicitly requested a quote. Otherwise set qualified to false. Never infer a quote request from a greeting or general interest. Summarize what was requested and identify missing information.Step 2
Build one AI text attempt
Open Workflows and choose Create workflow.
- Workflow name
- Qualify cleaning leads
- Attempt
- Add attempt → AI SMS conversation. Select your published Retell agent version and approved sender.
- Timing
- Keep the first attempt immediate. Calls and texts start daily from 9 am to before 8 pm in the recipient's time zone.
- Workflow input
- Under Integrations → Workflow inputs, declare
first_nameas a required String. Description: Recipient first name. Example: Sam. - Conversation goal
- Use the structured result
qualified, operator equals, value true (Boolean).
Configure conversation behavior in Retell. Tremi controls when the conversation starts, how its result stops later outreach, and which actions run afterward. Declare every agent input, including optional inputs and their fallback values.
Step 3
Simulate, inspect, and publish
- Choose Simulate in the workflow editor. Use Sam for
first_nameand+15555550123for the example phone. Leave external result delivery off. - Inspect the run's simulation mode, selected agent version, attempt, conversation events, and stop decision.
- Resolve missing inputs or configuration issues. Choose Review publish, then publish the version.
Simulation generates example evidence to check the workflow. It does not contact Retell or test the quality of the agent's responses. Test the prompt in Retell, then use a controlled live conversation after activation.
If setup or simulation is blocked
- Agent or version missing
- Publish the chat agent in Retell, sync the connection, and choose a numbered published version.
- Missing input or goal field
- Match input names and types exactly. Declare the structured result in Retell, publish, sync, and reselect that version. Use Boolean true for the goal.
- SMS setup pending
- Check both webhook destinations, subscribed events, sender routing, SMS approval, and exclusive sender use. Workspace activation is a separate requirement for live messages.
Step 4
Prepare for live SMS
Confirm that AI SMS is activated for your workspace and the configuration is ready in Connections. Use a phone you control, its actual time zone, and an authorized message. Replace all fictional destinations before a live launch.
With your own Retell account, one accepted AI SMS conversation uses one outreach credit; its replies add no Tremi conversation credits. The workflow start and any successful connected-app operations are additional. Retell bills its own usage separately.
After the conversation closes and its analysis arrives, inspect the transcript, collected results, and goal decision in Runs. Later attempts and completion actions wait for the conversation to close and its required results to be available.
Launch from a connected app
Connect your app account in Connections. On the published workflow, open Triggers and completion actions → Add automation → Start trigger. Select the app and event, then map a stable contact ID, phone number, time zone, and first_name.
Saving a successfully configured trigger activates it for live events. Limit the first test to a contact you control before saving. A trigger that starts a run adds one connected-app credit, in addition to the workflow start.
Launch from the API
Create a key in Settings → API keys with workflows:run and runs:read. Keep it server-side. Copy the workflow slug from its API contract and run this simulation first:
export TREMI_API_KEY='<YOUR_KEY>'
export TREMI_WORKFLOW_SLUG='qualify-cleaning-leads'
curl --request POST \
"https://www.tremi.ai/api/v1/workflows/$TREMI_WORKFLOW_SLUG/runs" \
